A Joint Boot Camp for Scientists and Journalists
Applications are now being accepted for an all-expenses-paid, 2.5-day boot camp designed to build media skills among researchers studying public health, social and behavioral science, and learning science relevant to school-aged youth. Researchers will receive media-focused communications training, including sessions on on-camera TV skills, honing messages for a media audience, interview skills, and relationship-building with journalists. To be held on March 19-21, 2020, at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, in Baltimore, Maryland. All travel, accommodation, meals, and program costs will be covered by SciLine (a philanthropically supported service for journalists based at the American Association for the Advancement of Science).
