About the Opportunity:

The Chair of General Psychology at our KU Faculty of Philosophy and Education invites applications for a part-time position (75%) as Research Associate (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter (m/w/d)) to be filled by the next possible starting date, for a limited period of 3 years. The place of work shall be Eichstätt. Provided that the requirements are met, remuneration in the private-law employment relationship will be according to pay grade E 13 TV-L. The successful candidate will have the opportunity and is expressly desired to complete a doctoral degree. 

The position is part of the DFG-funded project "The temporal dynamics and adaptive nature of attentional post-error adjustments". The project investigates the adaptive adjustment of attention processes after errors and is carried out in cooperation with the University of Southern Denmark in Odense (Prof. Søren Andersen).

Your tasks:
• Conducting EEG experiments using the steady-state visual evoked potential method
• Analysis of the data using Matlab and R
• Creation of publications
• Presentation of results at national and international conferences 
• Conducting own research in the context of the project as part of the candidate’s doctoral thesis

The doctorate is embedded in the graduate program of the research training group for natural sciences.

Your profile:
You hold a Master's degree in psychology or a comparable qualification, preferably with a focus on cognitive psychology or cognitive neuroscience. Very good English-language proficiency (written and spoken) and a strong interest in psychophysiological research are required. Knowledge of German is an advantage, but not essential. Previous experience with EEG and programming in Matlab is also an advantage.
